Upon arrival one of our representatives will be waiting for you at the airport holding a sign with your name on it. After the meet and greet, you will be transferred to the La Fortuna / Arenal Volcano area where you’ll be staying at the Hotel San Bosco. The air conditioned drive will take about 2 hours. Your hotel is located in the center of town, close to many restaurants and shopping. All rooms have air conditioning and WIFI. The hotel has a great pool and some very lovely grounds. A tropical breakfast is included each morning (unless otherwise noted).

7Day Two
After our delicious (included) tropical breakfast, you’ll head directly to the “Hogarcito” Orphanage to work with the young kids there. The orphanage has 17 young kids, ranging in age from newborn to 10 years old. While at the orphanage this week you’ll help out with daily chores, light maintenance as needed, and most importantly – playing with the kids. It’s tough for the small staff to be able to spend a lot of time with the kids and we greatly appreciate all the help we can get! Then at about 1pm we’ll head back to the hotel to rest and prepare for your afternoon tour, the Arenal Volcano Hike with a trip to the Baldi Hot Springs. Dinner included.Screen Shot 2014-08-07 at 1.45.21 PM

Today we get up early for our Mambo Combo Tour! We’ll be combining the exciting Lost Canyon Adventures Canyoneering and rafting on the beautiful Río Balsa for a full-day of pure adrenaline! This is the perfect blend of canyons, rappelling, whitewater adventure, wildlife, rolling rapids, and vibrant jungle! Our Lost Canyon Adventure is an experience of a lifetime -go where very few have had the privilege to roam! We’ll be in the midst of a thick rainforest, at the top of a magical canyon, full of tropical waterfalls with surprises each step of the journey!! You’ll get to rappel, down-climb, and experience amazing free-falls. Afterwards, we’ll head to the river and ride the waves of the Rio Balsa for about 2.5 hours along 10 kilometers of lush Costa Rican rainforest. You’ll finish off this fun-filled day with a delicious lunch at a charming rural location. Later we return to the orphanage where we’ll spend some more time with the children. Tonight you’re on your own to explore!

Day Four
Today is our only full day in the orphanage. It’s the perfect day for you to take some of the kids on a field trip, to play soccer or buy some ice cream cones!

This morning we’ll get back outside for more adventure as we participate in the Mountain Bike and Stand Up Paddling Tour. Costa Rica has amazing natural features and the tranquil countryside is ideal for mountain biking in Costa Rica! You’ll ride on trails that run through farmlands, close to the jungle and along the base of mountains and hills — this Arenal Volcano mountain bike tour helps you explore Costa Rica’s diverse natural environment with the help of your knowledgeable Costa Rica bike guide. As you bike along Lake Arenal at the base of the Arenal Volcano, you’ll pass rainforest, rural farmlands, and wildlife. You’ll have the chance to see different kinds of monkeys, toucans, coatimundis and more! Make a stop along the way and have a nice snack while cooling off in a river or in Lake Arenal. You will bike on a gravel road connecting Lake Arenal to the Arenal Volcano National Park which stretches 8.3 miles each way. After peddling, enjoy a delicious picnic lunch while relaxing before heading to Lake Arenal. Stand Up Paddling (SUP) looks exactly as it sounds: you stand up on a large, wide, super buoyant board (similar to a surfboard) & use a long paddle to move yourself along. You’ll feel like you’re walking on water! If you’re a first-timer, no worries! This activity is perfect for all adventure enthusiasts! This afternoon we’ll spend our last few hours with the kids in the orphanage.

Day Seven – Departure Day
Sadly, this morning we say goodbye to Costa Rica. After our included breakfast we head to the airport for your flight back home.
