Established in 2005, the Tropical Adventures Foundation has been dedicated to providing high quality voluntour adventure experiences tailored towards the expectations of adventure-minded travelers. Customized family itineraries is our specialty. Families make up about 75% of our client base. We have a lot of experience working with families and we love our families! Because Costa Rica is a very family-oriented country, kids feel right at home here.

Most families spend a portion of their trip living and volunteering in a community, while the rest of their time is spent traveling the country sightseeing, participating in adventure activities and just relaxing on the beach. We like to have a conversation with you and listen to your ideas and needs. Then we build a draft itinerary based upon what we heard you say you wanted and our experience with similar families. We deliver a beautiful draft itinerary and pricing to you so you and your family can sit down and review everything. Then you get back to us with your feedback – and we continue to improve your itinerary until it's perfect and exactly what you are looking for!

We also provide you with references of past volunteer families who had similar interests so you can get some feedback about our staff and programs, hear about must-do's and don'ts, and get a different perspective than you'll get from us or from our website.
