We welcome groups of 8 or more to help with our Research and Development – Flora and Fauna project. Here we promote scientific and monitoring studies in a couple of different areas, as well as monkey bridge building and mammal observation. If you would like to get involved in monitoring initiatives as a way of collecting data for analysis while empowering and teaching visitors about Costa Rica’s important flora and fauna, this project is what you awaiting you.

Volunteer Responsibilities

With the support of forestry engineers and field workers, volunteers will collect data such as trunk width, flowers, fruit existence, approximate height, etc. Volunteers will then be required to fill out monitoring sheets.

Typical volunteer responsibilities include:

Volunteers can expect to work a minimum of 20 hours per week.

This project is located in the Quepos and Manuel Antonio area. The project is situated in tropical forest areas, which means you are likely to encounter monkeys, red macaws and many other animals.

  • Age: Minimum age for children not traveling with a parent or guardian is 18 (or 16 with parent permission and an exception from our Director).
  • Participants: Groups of 8 and more.
  • Length: Minimum – 2 days; Maximum – unlimited.
