It’s that time of the year again when I get to announce my favorite annual event! I’m proud to say that our Holiday Project is now in it’s 9th year! This project creates a unique opportunity for local residents and tourists alike to take an active role in helping some of Costa Rica’s communities in need. And it is always super fun!
As some of you may know, National Geographic has named our Holiday Project as one of the 100 Best Volunteer Vacations to Enrich your Life. And I can promise you that participating with us would certainly enrich your life. The families and the kids we host each year are just fantastic and so very appreciative of our time, love and energy.
This year we’re going to spread the project over a two-week span. The first week we’ll be in the Hojancha, Guanacaste area. We’ll have lots of activities and a great party for the local kids. And of course, we’ll visit some of the amazing nearby beaches such as Playa Carillo, Samara and Tamarindo. Great tours such as the Diria Coffe Tour and the not-to-be-missed favorite, a canopy / zip-line tour! We’ll be staying with host families this first week, though we do have an option for a private room in a cabina.
The second week we’ll be going to La Fortuna where we’ll stay in a great hotel near the Arenal Volcano. Our time will be spent with some local orphans from our La Fortuna Orphanage Project. Currently there are 19 kids between the ages of newborn and 10 years old. We’ll spend some time with them each day, leading activities, field trips and a great New Year’s Eve party! We’ll also take some amazing local tours, such as a hike to the volcano, hot springs, horseback riding, a chocolate tour – and more!
We are offering a special all-inclusive holiday trip price of $1,820 USD for each adult visitor. This 14 day/13 night trip is set for December 20 through January 2. Click here to see the itinerary for these two weeks.
As many people can’t manage two full weeks in Costa Rica, we are offering two, one-week options as well, starting at just $1,190 USD. Please click on the following links for more information and to see the respective itineraries.
La Fortuna Orphanage – Week Two
Are you unable to make it this year? We’re sorry to hear that. However, we would still love it if you would spread the word for us. Please share this on Facebook and all your social media favorite spots!
If you are so inclined, please contact Scott for information on how to make a donation to help cover the cost of the activities, gifts for all the children, and party supplies.
Enjoy the Autumn and hopefully we’ll see you in Costa Rica later this year!
