Well here I am in Miami Beach. It’s a different kind of Crazy Jungle. I’m here on business and pleasure. The Miami Gay and Lesbian Film Festival is going on right now. It’s a bit strange to be here. I have not been here for over 10 years, and it’s certainly changed. I had been thinking it would be nice to find a place in the US to fly to and work with clients.

But it has become clear to me that this is not necessarily a place I want to be. Truthfully, it just reminds me why I left the US in the first place. I’m reminded how easy it is to fall into the consumerism. All this "great stuff" on sale that I don’t need. Sometimes in Costa Rica I think about how terrible it is there are certain things I can’t buy there. But then being here just reminds me how much I don’t want to buy that stuff anyhow!
